Our Memory Foam Topper Pad is Eco-Friendly and Made in the USA. Satisfaction is Guaranteed or your Money Back.
Memory Foam burst onto the scene about 15 years ago, and has become to the bedding industry what penicillin was to medicine. It is unlike any other bedding material: memory foam conforms to a person’s shape to relieve pressure. A relatively low-cost memory foam mattress topper pad can reduce aches and pains, improve your quality of sleep, and can even reduce the number of hours of sleep you need to get at night to feel well rested throughout the day.
(The latter was the case with this satisfied customer:)
“Your Memory Foam Topper has given me the gift of time … literally!”
“I purchased your memory foam topper 6 months ago because I couldn’t stand the rock-hard bed I was sleeping on. I have always needed at least 8 hours of sleep or else I cannot function. About once a week I wouldn’t get my 8, and I’d be tired all day. After a month on your memory foam topper I noticed the most amazing thing: I was able to get through my day on only 6.5 hours of sleep just fine. I know most people probably come to you because they want to sleep more, but for me to be able to spend less time in bed and feel just as rested as before, well it has been a godsend.
Thank you so much for giving me the gift of time! I am eternally grateful.”

Unfortunately Memory Foam has become such a buzz word that there are companies out there that unfairly market low quality foams as high quality memory foam mattress toppers. We’d like to help educate you on what to look for—and what to look out for—when buying a memory foam topper. We will let you know in what situations a topper is and isn’t appropriate, explain what are realistic expectations, and we will decipher the density myth.

You will also understand why we are so excited to be offering the MemoryFoamMattress.net Memory Foam Mattress Topper at such an incredible value, complete with a full 90 day money back guarantee. This means that if you are unsatisfied, for any reason at all, you may return the mattress topper for a Full Refund.
With all the hype that is out there about memory foam, it’s difficult to believe it all can be true. Incredibly, much of it is! To start off, memory foam is a very dense (though not firm) foam. It has millions of visco-elastic memory cells in every square inch that react to cradle and conform your body. Memory Foam is the only foam that can hold its shape; this gives it incredible pressure relieving abilities. You will find memory foam topper pads generally range in thicknesses between 1” and 4”. Any thicker and you wouldn’t have enough support.
Memory Foam has been shown to help people suffering from a wide variety of ailments, ranging from back pain and restlessness, all the way to fibromyalgia and arthritis. It promotes healthy blood circulation and relieves pressure where the body needs it most, in joints and the fragile bones of the spine. In addition, because it does not transfer motion, many couples benefit from not being disturbed when their partner gets up in the middle of the night or early in the morning. Most of the praise we receive from customers about the memory foam mattress topper pad relates directly to back pain relief.
“Your memory foam topper pad has helped me get through the work day trouble free”
“I can’t thank you enough for the relief you’ve given me from hip pain. As a salesman, I’m on my feet most of the day. Before I received your topper, I would be fine through my workday until about 2pm. At 2 I would start to get a tightening of the muscles that would get worse and worse until I would either have to leave work early or sit down. Lots of the time I would just grind through it, but it was such a bear.
The extra relief the memory foam topper pad gives me through the night must be the trick, because I no longer get this feeling most days. Now I can usually cont on going the entire day with the severe pain I used to experience.
You’ve made my life a whole lot easier, and all for less than the cost of a doctor’s visit. Thank you so much!”

Memory Foam is also temperature sensitive. At room temperature it retains it’s firmness, and as it heats up from your body temperature, it becomes much softer and conforming—this is what gives memory foam that cradling effect. In cold temperatures—under 50 degrees—memory foam is rock hard.
Some memory foams are more pressure sensitive than others; for example, we received a foam sample many years ago that would feel ultra-firm at 71 degrees, and ultra-plush at 74 degrees. Our MemoryFoamMattress.net Memory Foam Mattress Topper is less temperature-sensitive, thus giving it the flexibility to be used successfully across a broad range of temperatures.
It’s important that you have the opportunity to return the memory foam topper pad. While we only have a 1-2% return rate, there are folks who decide to return it. Usually they are returned because the person had never felt memory foam, and they decided it just wasn’t for them. Even though you have 90 days to return the topper, you will normally be able to make a decision after the first week.
Memory foam topper pads can be used with inner-spring, latex foam, and even waterbeds. When trying to decide if the memory foam topper can be beneficial to you, you must determine whether your current mattress is too firm, too plush (soft), or just right? If it is too firm, the topper pad will soften it up. If it is just right, adding a 2” Sleep Scholars memory foam topper will be the just what you need to get the benefits of memory foam, while keeping the firmness about the same. However, if your mattress is currently too soft, adding a memory foam mattress topper will only make it softer and less supportive, and therefore would not help. In the case that your mattress is too soft, you are better off purchasing a brand new memory foam mattress.
If your mattress has any indentations or slumps in it, a memory foam pad will not help. Memory Foam will conform to whatever is above or below it. This means that adding a mattress topper to a bed with impressions in it would only create a thicker bed with impressions in it. As with a mattress that is too soft, we advise you to replace your mattress immediately; the joint, muscular, and central nervous system problems that can arise from sleeping on an uneven surface over a long period of time are startling. If you want to try memory foam, check out our IQ Bed.
It’s no secret: today you can find memory foam toppers pretty much anywhere: Online and Offline, Wal-Mart and Target, Mattress Giant and Sharper Image, and even in the Catalog on the airplane. One topper pad is a $100, while another is $1000.
So what’s the difference?
As a company that only sells memory foam, we live and die by the quality of our customer’s memory foam experience. This has led to us be very thorough in evaluating every aspect of the memory foam.
Density, the weight of a cubic foot of memory foam, is the most basic measurement of memory foam quality. Most memory foams range between 2lbs/ft3 and 8lb/ft3. We feel 4lb density memory foam mattress pads work best, and that is what the Sleep Scholars memory foam pad is made out of. 4lb density memory foam is durable enough to last a long time—ours are warranted for 10 years. It’s also still reasonable in price. 4lb density memory foam seems to be right at the point of diminishing returns—5lb and denser foams add a lot of cost with very little added benefits.

The density is not your only concern, however; you must make sure you are buying pure memory foam without fillers. The fact of the matter is, since the materials that go into making memory foam are very expensive, many manufacturers use tricks such as adding a layer of regular foam to the memory foam within a memory foam mattress topper. Even harder to spot are memory foams that are mixed with clay during the manufacturing process to create a much cheaper memory foam that is heavier (and therefore has a higher density). What ends up happening is that even if the memory foam topper feels good, it doesn’t relieve pressure the way it should AND it will develop depressions within 6 months. All of the memory foam mattress pads and mattresses you see in Wal-Mart and Target, and a number of the memory foam found on mass merchants online have been show to be made with fillers. Needless to say, we do not use any fillers of any sort in our memory foam mattress toppers; the Sleep Scholars memory foam topper is made entirely of 100% pure 4lb density visco-elastic memory foam.
“This Memory Foam Topper Pad is So Luxurious”
“I couldn’t believe how much the topper weighed when I received it. It was like twice as heavy as I expected. In an age where everything is hollow, and feather light, it was really nice to get something in the mail that was obviously luxurious.
I was a bit skeptical when I first came across your site, but after learning you had a free trial period, I decided to give it a shot.
I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did! I’ve been sleeping on the memory foam for over two months now, and I am enthralled with how much refreshed I am when I rise in the morning. I haven’t slept this well in years.”

There are other factors to consider when looking for a memory foam mattress topper pad as well.
Breathability: some memory foams breathe better than others, and are therefore cooler sleeping. The main thing to look for is that the memory foam topper you are looking is made of true open-cell memory foam. The Sleep Scholars memory foam topper is made of a memory foam that is open-cell and quite breathable.
Temperature Sensitive: it’s important that the memory foam in a pad isn’t too temperature sensitive, or else it could be too firm or soft, depending on the temperature of your house.
Country of Origin: where was the memory foam topper made? It has been reported that as high as 90% of the memory foam coming out of China is made with clay and other fillers to make it cheaper, but making it very unstable. The Sleep Scholars memory foam pad is made right here in the United States of America.
TDI vs MDI: memory foam is made with one of two chemicals: either TDI or MDI. 95% of the memory foams out there are made with TDI, a petroleum waste product that tends to give a bad off-gassing smell. MDI, though more expensive, is derived from plant matter and odorless. The Sleep Scholars memory foam pad is made from MDI, and is therefore considered a natural product.
Firmness: firmness varies among memory foam, but generally is about the same. Very low-density memory foam generally is softer, and very high-density foams tend to be firmer. Our 4lb density Sleep Scholars memory foam topper pad seems to be right in the sweet spot.
Measurements: Some memory foam is cut short of the edge of the bed to save money. For example, a king size topper might be cut to 74”X77” instead of the standard mattress measurements of 76”x 80”. Our memory foam pad is cut edge-to-edge with the mattress.
Our Natural memory foam topper is made from a 100% pure memory foam made from a chemical derived from plant matter instead of being derived from oil, and comes with a 10 year warranty and a 90 day money back guarantee.
“Thank you for the Natural Sleep”
“My husband is a bit of a health nut. We grow most of our own fruits and vegetables, and we buy only organic foods from the Fresh Market. So when it came to purchasing memory foam, he was very against it because of the stories of noxious fumes memory foam has been reported to have. Luckily, we found your website, offering a natural memory foam.
It’s been great so far. We’ve ordered several more for our summer home in Maine. Not a lot of people take our healthy lifestyle seriously, and at times we have to abandon certain types of products, but it’s great to see that we don’t need to make concessions on the quality of our sleep.
Thanks.”

Tempur-Pedic has done a fantastic job of getting the word out about memory foam. They are currently the largest memory foam brand in the world. The memory foam that they use is 5.3lb density. It is a bit firm, and is too temperature sensitive. But all in all, it is a very good product. The only problem is how expensive the Tempurpedic product is. For example, a 3” queen Tempur-Pedic mattress pad is billed at $888. For that price you could have 3 Sleep Scholars memory foam pads!
Sleep Scholars memory foam toppers come in your choice of 2” or 3”. If you are trying to just slightly soften up your mattress, but want all the benefits of memory foam, we’d recommend going with the 2” memory foam mattress topper. If you want to add some serious luxury to your bed, go with the 3” memory foam mattress topper. If you are heavy for your height, we recommend going with the 3” topper pad. There are companies that manufacture 1” and 4” toppers, but these tend to be insufficient and overwhelming, respectively.
“Your 3” Topper Transformed Our Bed into a Cloud”
“We bought a cheap, hard mattress for our guest room when we built our house, because we were trying to save money. But when my parents decided to come for the week between Christmas and New Year’s, we decided we better get something for it. So we ordered your 3” memory foam mattress pad. My parents loved it.
I didn’t think anymore of it, until one night, when I was having trouble sleeping, I decided to lie in the guest bed. I was blown away! It was more comfortable than our $2000 mattress. It was like lying in a cloud. I couldn’t wait to get back to it when I get home from work after that first night. We ended up switching it with our other mattress.”

While it is not absolutely necessary to purchase a cover for your memory foam mattress topper, we do recommend it. Standard topper covers do not cover the whole mattress, and are not treated to protect the topper from most hazards. In addition, because the porous nature of memory foam keeps the topper pad from shifting around on the mattress, having a cover that only goes around the topper tends to allow the topper to shift places in bed. This can become rather annoying.
For that reason, we offer the Protect-a-Bed® Cover. It keeps both your mattress and your topper safe from spills, accidents, natural body oils, and even dead skin cells, all of which tend to take their toll over the years.
The Protect-a-Bed® Cover will protect your Sleep Scholars memory foam topper and underlying mattress for the life of your mattress, and can be washed in your washing machine. It is made of a space-age material that is impenetrable, yet is breathable at the same time. No getting hot and sticky like the mattress protector you had as a kid. It is also noiseless, and fits any depth of mattress.
You can add the Protect-a-Bed® mattress topper pad cover at checkout.
Simply put, we carry the highest quality memory foam mattress topper in the world.
“Thanks for the Great Experience”
“Your topper is great. I bought it to help with my neck tension, and it has definitely helped me manage most of that problem. I was particularly impressed with how fast my order arrived. I live in NYC, and I received my topper the day after I ordered it. I wish everyone online was like that.”
